BENDT Distilling Co is hiring a Food & Beverage Manager to lead our F&B team at the company's Distillery location in Lewisville, TX. Founded in 2012, BENDT is a grain to glass Texas craft whiskey distillery offering a variety of award winning spirits and first in class distillery guest experience.

The ideal candidate should possess the following profile:

  • Minimum three years experience as a Bar/Restaurant General Manager

  • Proven leadership, experience successfully managing multiple teams in various positions

  • Experience leading a team of bartenders and bar staff

  • Financial/business acumen

  • Upholds the highest level of hospitality and customer service, with a desire to ensure that customers are happy with their all aspects of their experience

  • Ability to coach and develop staff, providing constructive feedback and maintaining a goal-oriented workplace

  • An extremely positive attitude - exudes positive energy

  • Outgoing and able to talk to anyone and everyone, approachable

  • A natural leader, multi-tasker and problem solver

  • Ability to quickly assist with and diffuse customer issues

  • Clean, organized and goal oriented with a meticulous attention to detail

  • Exceptionally polite, well-spoken and articulate in both verbal and written communication

  • Ability to firmly and directly delegate tasks and address issues, while maintaining composure and collaborative team spirit

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, TABC permit required, Food Manager Certification required to apply

  • 21+

Main responsibilities:

  • Hire, schedule and manage multiple teams, including all food, bar and event staff

  • Hold regular staff and shift meetings, one-on-ones, goal settings and reviews, as well as regularly reporting to management on staff issues, management requirements, status, hiring needs and suggestions for dismissals

  • Maintain relationships with and schedule partner vendors, including caterers, music acts and other event-related service providers, keeping all necessary permitting and paperwork updated for vendors and authorities

  • Plan and execute new hire training (new staff) and ongoing staff development (existing staff)

  • Ensure that all inventory is kept stocked, documented/inventoried weekly and monthly, clean and organized, and fresh

  • Oversee and carry out all parts of private or public events from start to finish, including but not limited to pre-event permitting and follow-ups, venue layout and map planning, staff scheduling and education/prep, venue and vendor setup, guest greeting, run-of-show, guest sendoff, break-down, clean up and close shop, post-event follow up, write-up and revenue tracking

  • Know and maintain facility (Front of House) layout, organization, cleanliness, capacity, proper set-up, dress code, operational hours and price ranges

  • Oversee inventory of all tasting hall ingredients, place orders according to set par levels (will vary by season), receive and track deliveries

  • Ensure compliance to departmental policies and applicable civic regulations regarding food & alcohol service, keeping all permitting, staff training/licenses and physically posted notices up to date

  • Establish departmental objectives, schedules, budgets, policies/procedures with management approval

  • Physical requirements: Must be able to conduct various physical movements throughout the work areas, stay on your feet for hours at a time, reach up and down, remain stationary at times throughout work periods and lift up to 50 pounds.

Required experience:

  • bar / restaurant management - experience managing service industry teams: 3 years

  • All vaccinations up to date

  • Bachelor's degree preferred

License/Certification:

  • Driver's License (Required)

  • TABC Certified (Required)

  • Food Manager Certification (Required)
