Fresh Menu Prep Specialist

BENDT Distilling Co is hiring a Fresh Menu Prep Specialist to prepare menu items for guests to our distillery tasting hall in Lewisville, TX. Although constantly expanding to add new items, we pride ourselves on offering a small, but 100% house-made fresh menu to our visitors. Our seasonal menu includes fresh-baked breads, sandwiches, boards and our famous whiskey cake. The Fresh Menu Prep Specialist would beautifully prepare and prep all orders, as they are placed.

Founded in 2012, BENDT is a grain to glass Texas craft whiskey distilling company offering a variety of award winning spirits and first in class distillery guest experience.

Friday & Saturday afternoon / evening (8-12 hr shifts both days)

Sunday-Thursday: Events, as needed

Job description

The ideal candidate should possess the following profile:

  • Driven by a desire to ensure all food is prepared and beautifully plated to the highest quality standards

  • Efficient verbal and written communication skills

  • An extremely positive attitude with the optimistic outlook to inspire others

  • Detail oriented, meticulously clean and organized

  • Well spoken, polite and articulate

  • Relevant Work experience and background

  • Experience in a food prep role

  • Background in/knowledge of and willingness to follow all Health codes and regulations

  • Desire to create and execute a curated small bites menu to enhance guest experience

  • Knowledge of/passion for craft whiskey is a plus

Other Requirements:

  • A natural multi-tasker and efficient problem solver

  • Ability to work independently, while in a bustling team environment

  • Organized with a meticulous attention to detail

  • Be able to lift 50 lbs, and be able to stand/sit/bend for 8+ hours a day

  • Must maintain a clean work/prep area at all times, constantly keeping up with clutter and sanitization

  • Candidate must be 21+

  • Candidate must have current TABC permit + food handlers

Main responsibilities:

  • Opening/closing of food prep area and bar at beginning and end of shifts

  • Preparing and executing current and future menu items, including fresh small bites, charcuterie boards and all fresh/house-made sandwiches, following exact recipes for consistency

  • Serving as occasional backup for in-house full time baker (will train, and will be very infrequently)

  • Rotating all food/prep items and maintaining walk-in cleanliness and organization

  • Communicating with staff and management on quantities, inventory and orders

  • Publicly represent Bendt Distilling Co in a friendly and approachable manner

  • Assistance in other areas of distillery tasting hall when needed

  • Assist in setup/ break down and general cleaning of bar and facility for private or public events from start to finish, including but not limited to venue and vendor setup, guest greeting, all points of service, guest sendoff, break-down, clean up and closing duties
